Oracle/DB2 Administrator

Job Responsibilities

•  Installation, upgradation and maintenance of high availability databases.

•  Participate in new project proposals, devising solutions to critical issues.

•  Perform database performance-tuning activities.

•  Configure Oracle data guard, ASM and RAC technologies advanced features.

•  Install Oracle Multi Node RAC, OEM, Dataguard, RMAN

•  Perform database backup & restore activities

•  Setup and administer Oracle multi-tenant databases

•  Setup and administer DB2 HADR databases

•  Perform Problem Management (Proactive & Reactive), execute complex change requests and complex projects

•  Provide detailed implementation plans and detailed project plans for complex projects /environment migrations, technical documentation, continuous improvement progress reports (Automation Report, Standardization) and knowledge transition plans

•  Implement automations for reduction in manual effort. It is essential to have hands-on experience in one of the Automation Platforms like SALTSTACK, Ansible, and Jenkins.

•  Create and publish knowledge base articles and contribute to knowledge management activities in the service.

Skills Required

1.    Excellent technical skills on Oracle / Db2(LUW) database administration

2.    Advanced understanding of RDBMS concepts, High Availability and disaster recovery procedures

3.    In-depth experience with database upgrades, migrations & patching activities

4.    Experience with database performance tuning activities

5.    Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills with a focus on customer service.

6.    A solid understanding in ITIL processes – Incident, problem, change & release management.

7.    Should be proficient in scripting

8.    Excellent Business Communication skills

9.    Vendor Certification in DB administration (preferred)

10.     Fluency of German Language (Verbal and Written)
